Hi, I would like scikit-image team to submit a project proposal for NumFOCUS’s Small development Grant Round 3 (Deadline : Sept 30th, 2024). I have made this draft proposal : scikit_image_Aditi_juneja_NumFOCUS_SDG - Google Docs which proposes me working on adding a dispatching system in scikit-image. I plan on improving it further. You can add your review comments in this google doc and/or below this message as well.
And I have put this here and not on GitHub because I didn’t know how much interested the core developers of scikit-image would be in submitting this proposal for the SDG because already many people have opened PRs on this.
Also I didn’t know what the Amount requested should be. I am not sure what all parameters(like hours, complexity of project, prior experience and knowledge,…) should be considered and how much weight should each of these parameters be given. So, please LMK if there are any ways that are used to decide an appropriate compensation for a project. Any kind of guidance on this would be great!
Also I’ll be open to having a meeting regarding this proposal
