Proposed Release Schedule for SciPy 1.15.0

Hi all,

I’m proposing the release schedule for SciPy 1.15.0 below and I’m happy to hear feedback/requests for adjustments if needed.

  • 2024-12-06T07:00:00Z branch maintenance/1.15.x
  • 2024-12-09T07:00:00Z release SciPy 1.15.0rc1
  • 2024-12-20T07:00:00Z release SciPy 1.15.0rc2 (if needed)
  • 2025-01-03T07:00:00Z “Final” release of SciPy 1.15.0

There are currently 34 open PRs with the 1.15.0 milestone and 34 open issues with the 1.15.0 milestone. I know there was interest in making sure that the HiGHs change got merged before branching–let me know of any other “blockers” that may not be immediately obvious.

We’re still more than a month away, so there is some time to get things done. I know there has been a lot of activity in stats, special, and sparse, and continued array API adoption progress.
