EuroSciPy 2025 has been announced for August 18 to 22 in Krakow, Poland. We are again planning on doing a scikit-image sprint attached to the event. Please let us know if you are interested in attending!

Man… I appreciate my brothers and sisters in Poland for helping out with EuroSciPy but it’s again a pain in the ass to get to.

I discussed with Juan, and to make it feasible for more people to attend, we are considering having the sprint in Vienna, 14 to 16 August (dates to be fixed), instead. Krakow is a pretty easy train ride from there, and Vienna is a hub that is more easily reachable for our team members in Europe.
Well I’ve been meaning to check out Vienna, so not opposed at all. And definitely happy to plan for an attendance at EuroSciPy this year.
But I’m curious how this would improve things? The stop in Vienna would break up the journey which is nice, but the difficulty of the journey back would be the same no?
If it makes it easier to attend / or easier to justify for people, I’m all for it though. Would be awesome to have even more maintainers there then last time! 
Juan will not be attending EuroSciPy, so for him Vienna is significantly easier to reach than Krakow.
Makes sense. Just having Juan there makes it worth it IMO.
