Those interested in prior art may be interested in Fedora’s draft policy and the discussion it has spawned.

A quick summary of their proposed rules on contributions:

  1. AI tools are not banned, but low-quality AI use is.
  2. AI use must be disclosed.
  3. AI use for translation is explicitly allowed.
  4. Limit AI Tools for reviewing contributions.

Of course, SciPy and Fedora are not precisely comparable as Fedora is mostly re-distributing existing software.
